The field or engineering jobs can be a combination of the understanding of the mathematical and natural sciences which then can be applied to develop effective ways to utilize the materials and forces of nature. To an engineer, knowledge is not an end in itself but is simply the raw material from which may be fashioned into structures, machines, and systematic processes. Moreover, building things has always been one of humanity’s basic activities.

The development of civilization is marked by the building of pyramids, bridges, roadways, aqueducts, walls and fortifications, canals, and many other structures. These projects were designed and supervised by master builders. We know that those builders had a sound understanding of many of the structural principals – like a masonry arches – which are used in engineering jobs today. Take note that the master builders of antiquity would not be able to construct a modern skyscraper, a long tunnel under the sea, or even put a single-span bridge across New York Harbor, or design structures to be transported to the moon. All of these things can only be done by the engineers of today.

Engineers who accomplished various engineering jobs in their engineering careers help rebuild and change the face of the earth according to the needs of society. They even apply scientific knowledge to bring us to the threshold of such things as mining the deepest seas, setting up interplanetary communications systems, and probing with powerful radio telescopes to the outer limits of the universe. Engineers are often identified with spectacular technological adventures, but they are also the key figures to look after for finding innovative strategies and means to answer some of the major problems that the world has faced. For instance, in the previous years, bad shortages of fresh water are causing many problems for farmers and industrial firms in the western and southwestern United States. We know there is enough water in the seas to meet all our needs. However, it’s a great challenge to get the salt out of this seawater at a reasonable cost. Hence, brilliant engineers looked for solutions in a calculated and scientific manner.

Engineer jobs have put scientific knowledge to work on this problem, as they are putting science to work on a broad range of unsolved technological problems all over the world. For instance, in the underdeveloped areas of Africa and Asia, the people are in need of modern roads, bridges, dams, transportation and port facilities, local industry, adequate housing, and training in fundamental construction and industrial skills – these things cannot be tackled and their solutions can’t be achieved today without superb engineering knowledge and skills. Hence, scientists and the engineers form a team that is shaped on today’s technology. If science is basically analytical, engineering is basically creative. Engineering jobs are concerned with operations and with those people who are affected with their control. The engineer must be recognized as a person of action with a high order of versatility in the application of new knowledge to practical problems. Hence, a scientist makes it known while the engineer makes it work.

Moreover, engineers utilize the substantial principles in mathematics and scientific knowledge to discover practical solutions to problems in all industries. Engineer’s jobs resulted in the development of the methods of producing less expensive electric power. They even devise more effective waste disposal systems and design construction machinery and develop equipment to explore outer space and ocean floor. Engineers also design and help produce consumer services and products, such as telephones, televisions, and automobiles. They either work in the public or private sector whose engineering job brings a big impact to our day-to-day living.

Likewise, in their entire engineering careers, engineers are intricately involved in the development of new products. They design and test all new components and fit them together into an overall plan. Engineers make sure that the product can be manufactured safely and economically. The product may be as simple as a child’s toy or as complex as a missile launcher or a spacecraft. For example, making a synthetic fiber like nylon or uranium fuel elements is an example of an engineer job. To accomplish the production, industrial know-how must go beyond the specific formulas for making each of these things. Quantity and cost factors demand intricate processes, while systems have to be set up if industrial plants need to achieve any production and profit goals. Hence, engineers devise these intricate processes and systems. They are also involved in constructing large-scale projects where their engineering jobs are required in developing excavation plans, making blueprints for all structural details, and provide analysis on certain load factors for the floors, walls, and other structural parts of the building to assure the safety and durability of the construction.

What I liked about the service is that it had such a comprehensive collection of jobs! I was using a number of sites previously and this took up so much time, but in joining EmploymentCrossing, I was able to stop going from site to site and was able to find everything I needed on EmploymentCrossing.
