Hammering is the sound of movie water being stopped abruptly by the closing of a value, resulting in the weight of the water crashing against the faucet, value or sidewalls of the pipe.

PRESSURE REDUCING VALUE

Water hammering, in most cases, can be solved by installing a pressure-reducing value.

EXPANSION TANK

Pressure-redcing value can cause problems with a hot water heater. The installation of an expansion tank will help reduce this problem.

How expansion tank works:
  • When the water heater turns on, the water within your piping system begins to expand.

  • This water enters the expansion tank and is released once hot water is drawn.

  • The expansion tank relieves pressure that would otherwise cause the water heater's pressure relief valve to discharge.
