Have you ever considered one of the many engineer careers out there? Have jobs in engineering always excited you? Well you'll be glad to know that you were quite right, because it turns out that the engineering jobs may very well be the best paying jobs out there. Why is that exactly? It's pretty simple; engineers know how to make things. They know what needs to be done, they know what materials they need, and if the material doesn't exist then they will have it invented.

These are the people who build our bridges, fuel our war, and make sure that we have a safe country to live in. In this economic recession however, it can sometimes be hard to tell which jobs in engineering are the best, and that can be the worst part of all. Do you take one of the manufacturing engineer jobs? What about the nuclear sector? There are so many choices to be made, and that's exactly why we've put together this list of engineer positions for you, as it will help you to render your decision.

Nuclear Engineering: At the low end of the totem pole of jobs in engineering, you have the nuclear engineer. In this job you will make approximately $64,353 per year. It doesn't sound like much, though it's more than many people will see in ten years believe it or not. Nuclear energy powers our submarines and ships, and it is a highly regulated field. Be prepared to deal with politics and policy changes throughout your career if this is the path you choose to take!

Chemical Engineering: Do you have a passion for working with chemicals? Do you want to work with the technology of tomorrow, making new materials and dealing with next-gen subjects such as nanotechnology? There are many that do, and that's what makes this particular field so appealing. In this particular career path you will more than likely make $74,000 per year. Not too shabby, is it? It's clearly one of the better engineer careers out there!

Materials Engineering: Manufacturing engineer jobs are in high demand and this is a career path that will lead to it. Though you will need a bachelor's degree and about six years of experience, you will be working with all kinds of materials. Your job will be to come up with new materials, and even find ways to employ existing materials in areas they've never been used before. Does it sound challenging? It should, considering it brings in over $80,000 per year.

Aerospace Engineering: This is one of the most highly paying jobs out there, especially amongst jobs in engineering. Here is a career where you will be making $1,15,000 per year. That's not pocket change and it will definitely show when you get that weekly paycheck! These are the engineers that work on our aircraft, and some even work for NASA on space projects. How exciting would that be?

These are just a few of the high paying engineering careers out there today. Remember that these careers will take a considerable amount of work and education. The reason they pay so well is that not many people can do them. Are you one of the few that can step up to the plate and take your rightful place as an engineer? There's only one way to find out!

What I liked about the service is that it had such a comprehensive collection of jobs! I was using a number of sites previously and this took up so much time, but in joining EmploymentCrossing, I was able to stop going from site to site and was able to find everything I needed on EmploymentCrossing.
