Step 1 - Start Your Studies as Soon as Possible

Don't try to get through the process quicker then need be, take your summer off, make sure you are resting during breaks so that you can give the program your all during the regular school year. You should also look into any internships that are available. This will help you have hands on understanding of what you are working towards and may help you with getting a job once you graduate.
Step 6 - Consider Furthering Your Specialization
Once getting your bachelor degree there are two paths you can take, you can either take a look at the engineering jobs available in your specialty with a bachelor’s degree or go on to graduate school.
Step 7 - Get Your Engineer License
A professional engineer license will help advance your career greatly. To get your license you first need to take and pass the Fundamentals of Engineering exam, complete four years of work experience in a position that is acceptable and meet the state requirements where you live. Once you have completed those steps you will sit for the Principles and Practices of Engineering exam.
