Vice President Jobs description
A vice president in an engineering environment is responsible for providing both strategic and technical leadership to the entire organization/ division. Typical duties of a vice president include providing strategic leadership to the division; keeping updated on current technological advancements; allocating resources for the business unit; motivating and evaluating managers in the organization; handling major problems that may arise; and as part of senior management, participating in long term planning. A vice president may report directly to the chief executive officer or president.A vice president should have a bachelor\\\'s degree in an engineering discipline along with 10+ years of progressively responsible experience in an engineering field. Strong ability to motivate and lead people is an essential trait for this role. Related positions include president, chief operating officer, assistant vice president or senior director position.
