We are looking to add a Digital Engineer I to our Attach team. The Attach team is responsible for front-end applications to enhance the customer’s shopping experience by presenting them with an accessory, warranty, and service products that will supplement their initial product selection. We are a team that thinks big with a clear vision, but willing to start small and validate with data and customer feedback. We are relentlessly focused on delivering a great customer experience through every decision we make, ultimately making Best Buy the easiest place to buy from regardless of channel. What will you do as a Digital Engineer I

Participates in all phases of the project lifecycle – architecture, design, development, MVP, and Dev Ops.

Lead the design and development of key e-commerce technology initiatives

Lead Agile teams of skilled developers/engineers

Strong demonstrated ability to work directly with technical leads, engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders

Demonstrate a creative and innovation-driven ability to articulate engineering design patterns related to scale, performance, security, and usability

Basic Qualifications

4 years of software engineering experience

2 years of developing web applications with modern JavaScript frameworks like React.js, Node.js or related

6 months of technical leadership responsibilities including leading, coaching, and/or mentoring development teams

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of and working experience with open source software (Apache, Tomcat, Memcache, etc.) as well as networks, security, firewalls, load balancers, DNS, and other infrastructure components

Agile development practical experience

Test-driven development, refactoring, automated unit test, integration test, functional test, and continuous integration/deployment. Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills

Experience using version control systems such as Subversion or Git

Experience using modern JavaScript libraries such as React and Redux
