Description
As part of our Digital Health Platform team, the Lead Software Engineer will be working with leadership to conceptualize our next generation product.
Responsibilities
As a Lead Software Engineer you will be working with leadership to conceptualize our next generation product, leading a development team to design and build it, contributing to the technical architecture of our enterprise data platform (including improvements to our cloud infrastructure and DevOps), leading the analysis and resolution of production issues, and helping continually improve our processes.
On any given day you may:
Lead by example doing hands-on platform development
Mentor team members to level up our overall skill set
Review pull requests and provide constructive feedback
Dig into system issues to understand and fix the cause, not the symptom
Design and implement changes in our development pipeline and cloud infrastructure
Investigate and propose new ideas, frameworks, technologies, or processes
What you bring to the table
You are a lead engineer with 5 or more years of experience with Cloud-based platform development. You are capable of owning significant design and development responsibility. You can work with autonomy to get things done while collaborating with others on architectural and process decisions. You are comfortable with giving and receiving feedback from your teammates and others in the organization. You can think on your feet and conceptualize what needs to be done from incomplete and evolving requirements. You hit deadlines and communicate effectively.
The successful candidate will also have experience with:
Azure Cloud Services
Designing solutions architecture
Building big data platform
Building RESTful APIs
Working with Infrastructure and security as code
Designing data models

Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or above (Computer Science, Bio Engineering, Electronics and Electrical Engineering or any related field)
Proficient understanding and tech-lead level experience in one or more programming languages (Java, Scala, etc.)
5 years of Cloud-based platform development experience
Strong Java experience
Experience with JSON, RESTful web services and client-server interactions
Knowledge of various persistence (RDBMS, noSQL, HDFS, Cassandra, Redis)
Understanding Data Catalog, Data Governance, Data Lineage
Experience with security, authentication in data platform
Experience with building stream-processing systems, using solutions such as Spark-Streaming or Flink
Experience with integration of data from multiple data sources
Good basics of operating systems and network
Good knowledge of Big Data technologies stack such as Spark, noSQL
Knowledge of messaging systems, such as Kafka or Pulsar

Experience with Spring/Spring Boot
Experience with highly scalable web services
API design and development
Knowledge of and experience with Azure
Environment management/orchestration systems (Kubernetes, etc.)
Experience with testing frameworks and code quality tools

Familiarity with Healthcare (FHIR), Clinical or Financial industry
