Job Description:
The Project Process Engineer is responsible for providing engineering support and coordination for projects critical to delivering the site's business plan.
The overall objectives of this role are:
1) provide support for conceptual design of projects
2) lead projects from Identify through the Concept Select project process phases. In addition, help develop margin improvement ideas and project economic justifications.
Accountabilities for Health Safety and Environmental:
• Assure compliance with All Health and Safety procedures
• Assure compliance with PSM procedures
• SHA / PHA technical resource
• Coordinate project safeguarding
• Responsible for maintaining safeguarding documentation for projects
• Responsible for closing MOC actions associated with projects
• Maintain close relationships with process and discipline specialists
• Ensure compliance with environmental procedures
• Provide technical assistance for permit applications associated with projects
Accountabilities for Process Engineering:
• Ensure all process designs are safe, technically sound and meet Company standards.
• Support completion of Project Initiation Forms
• Develop and maintain Project Premise Document for all phases of the project
• Provide economic evaluations throughout the project phases
• Support the Basis of Design and detailed design for projects as needed to ensure success of the project
• Communicate project status with production teams
• Coordinate process engineering activities during construction and startup
• Support operations for training and startup
• Provide technical assurance and conformance to all applicable Shell regional or global standards
• Understand process impacts on equipment

Requirements:
Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, Chemical Engineering or Construction Management.
At least six (6) years of practical work experience with Project Management.
Experience in front end developing of a project is a plus.
Experience in managing EPCM contracts is an advantage.
Comprehensive practical working knowledge of refinery or chemical manufacturing plant processes, equipment, industry standards and general project execution procedures required.
