What will I be doing?

As a 2nd Class Maintenance Engineer, you would be responsiblefor maintaining the physical functionality and safety of the hotel's engine room equipment and machinery in the hotel's continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability. Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:

Perform carpentry, plumbing, electrical troubleshooting and repairs, painting, mechanical troubleshooting and repairs.

Rooms preventive maintenance program – inspect room for damage.

Perform repair tasks such as re – caulking, fixing leaks, change light bulbs, check the television and the air conditioner.

Electrical, electronics, plumbing, air conditioning, test and treat boilers and chillers, refrigeration, mechanical systems, locksmithing, carpentry, cabinet making, painting and masonry.

Ability to competently operate all hotel systems and associated equipment.

Respond to and correct any guest requests or trouble calls that may occur on duty.

Identify and perform periodic maintenance as required for all equipment in assigned area

Complete all work assignments and work orders assigned by Engineering Supervisors, Engineering Managers, Chief Engineer or Director of Facilities Management in a timely and professional manner.

Provide leadership, support, and guidance to all lower Engineering divisional positions.

Perform pertinent testing for chemical treatment (HVAC/boiler).

Originate purchase requisition and maintains adequate stock of tools and materials

Maintain log and records as directed by Engineering Managers.

Participate in setting up equipment for special events

Keep shop areas/work areas clean and safe, daily.

Responsible for inspecting and reporting of discrepancies in your daily assigned area, daily.

Utilize feedback information from others in the engineering/landscaping department for economical operation and maintenance of hotel.

Test equipment as required in manufacturers manuals as directed by Supervisors (weekly / monthly)

Research and submit requests for supplies/parts/materials for approval to the Engineering Purchasing Supervisor. All requests will be required to have approval by Engineering Management.

Inventory all tools under your respective charge and submit list to the Engineering Purchasing Supervisor, monthly.

Check operation of equipment placed under your charge and make repairs as necessary.
