Job Summary

Responsible for providing system architectures and solutions to bring to market new innovative products which span web service offerings. Leads engineering functions as they relate to the planning, design, integration, test, deployment and support of products. Assists with testing and operational activities. Integrates knowledge of business and functional priorities. Acts as a key contributor in a complex and crucial environment. May lead teams or projects and shares expertise.

Core Responsibilities:

Participation in internal and external Design sessions and understanding overall project specific requirements and designs.

Reviews and verifies requirements and design specifications for validity in overall product design, with an emphasis towards product testability and verification.

Guiding junior talent in terms of explaining the feature requirements and resolving any technical difficulties the team may face

Unblocking the team, when need be, thus enabling them to complete their tasks.

Experience creating / documenting test plans

Capable of providing high level LOEs for features - Involvement in grooming and planning stories for the sprint

Planning and forecasting of upcoming work items

Capable of participating proactively in the testing and certification process

Execute and manage test cases and results, report on test and defect metrics

Execute automated functional, integration and regression test cases; log, track and verify the resolution of defects.

Working with other QE engineers to drive automation and CI/CD tools and framework

Perform functional reviews of automation code.

Produce documentation/metrics with goal of reducing test intervals and improving quality

Capable to work with Operations on production needs and help support the application in production

Provide On-call support on a rotation basis for debugging/support and release management

Familiar with Agile/Scrum concepts

Contributes to the development of Quality Engineering test philosophies and methodologies.

Knowledge of best practices and IT operations in an always-up, always-available service.

Skills & Experience We're Looking For:

7 years of experience as an SDET

Experience with using ELK Stack and Splunk

Experience in Linux/Unix Administration - Be Well versed with Linux OS

Experience in using test management tools - ALM Octane, Test Rail

Experience in project management tools (i.e., Rally, JIRA, Confluence, etc.)

In depth knowledge of Kubernetes, Dockerization and microservices

Experience working in a CI/CD environment, Concourse is a plus

Experience with using BI-Tools monitoring and analysis - like Prometheus, Grafana, Tableau

Experience with Message broking services like RabbitMQ, Kafka, Kinesis

Experience with Database like Cassandra, MySQL, Postgres

Perl, Python, Bash UNIX Scripting languages is a plus

Domain Specific Skills for vSG:

Experience with using Wireshark, ability to analyze traces

Has a strong understanding of the device modem architecture, CMTS and modem provisioning.

Good understanding of SDN (software defined network),

Knowledge of high-end servers -200 Gbps data transmission, traffic generators like ixia/T-rex

Decent understanding of DHCP flow, TCP-UDP protocols, CPE-IPv4/6, Multicast, working knowledge of IS-IS

Experience with cable industry standard practices, interfaces, operating systems, and protocols such as DOCSIS 3.0/3.1, SIP, and Packet Cable

Prior extensive experience in IP Service (Ethernet, vLAN, Internet, and Managed Router)

Experience of validating high-availability production-grade solutions in virtualized environments

Any exposure to supporting Business KPI's, network metrics & telemetry with performance analysis is a plus.

Solid understanding of DDoS, Firewalls and Security event management.
