Best Buy’s Digital & Technology team is seeking a Senior Software Engineer

to join our B2B (Best Buy Business) team. Our team handles building highly scalable B2B platforms for various client integrations and customer facing capabilities along with internal sales facing functions. We do a variety of work – J2EE Full stack development with Node.js / Tomcat as a server, with React Native, React-JS applications, and Micro services capabilities. Key position responsibilities:

Develop J2EE applications using Spring and commonly used J2EE frameworks, databases, and messaging systems.

Provide quality and thoughtful feedback on peer code reviews.

Develop synchronous and asynchronous capabilities in J2EE platform integrating with many different technologies.

Develop highly decoupled and scalable applications and responsible for key application modules and DevOps model.

Understand the industry trends in software engineering and create internal libraries and tools.

Use modern technology to build highly scalable, resilient, tunable, and extensible applications.

Collaborate with stakeholders, team members across various disciplines and develop solutions to meet organization needs.

Lead team thru technical mentoring, coaching, and work direction

Leads and helps design sessions and advises on best practices for J2EE, user interface, and architecture.

Minimum Qualifications:

3 years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree OR equivalent relevant professional experience

2 or more years of experience working as full stack developer for react / angular development and micro service framework.

Preferred Qualifications:

5 or more years of experience in software development as a full stack developer

2 or more years of experience with Spring

2 or more years of experience with working on cloud platform

2 or more years of experience in consuming and producing REST endpoints.

2 or more years of experience in an agile and continuous integration and delivery environment

1 or more years of experience coaching, work direction, and/or mentoring development team.

Solid understanding of REST principles & thread safety, transactions, logging, and techniques to make systems scalable, resilient, tunable, and extensible.

Experience with SQL, NoSQL, and Messaging.

Knowledge and ability to drive test automation.

Experience working in large-scale customer-facing front-end & back-end applications.
