Splunk is an industry leader in the “Data to Everything” platform and is well-positioned to extend the lead with our bold new vision.About the Role:This role will report to the Sr. Director of Cybersecurity Architecture, Engineering & Product Security within Splunk Global Security organization and lead a hardworking team of sustaining and security engineers.As the Sr. Manager for Security Engineering, you will be responsible to design, develop and deploy tools and solutions to improve Splunk’s security posture. You will have an opportunity to use your entire range of skills and interact with a number of teams within Splunk Security ranging from SOC, Incident Response (IR) and Forensic, Threat and Vulnerability Management (TVM) and Cybersecurity Risk.ResponsibilitiesAdvocate for and lead sophisticated security projects from inception through completion, working closely with other engineering and leadership teams.Build partnerships with other teams at Splunk to help them understand how security enables business.Lead a team of hardworking Splunkers managers, early career and advanced security engineers.Ensure security solutions are available and protecting Splunk from internal and external threats.Work with our internal customers to ensure solutions are meeting requirements.Design, code, build and maintain standalone tools on Cloud infrastructure for all SGS employees to use.Support and improve your team's happiness, engagement, and efficiency.Demonstrated ability to foster a culture of learning, psychological safety, respect for differences and collaboration across all engineering skill levels.Ability to learn new technologies quickly and mentor junior team members.Work with internal and external audit teams to meet and exceed requirements.RequirementsAn experienced people manager with 3 years of leadership experience and desire to learn.Experience in some or all of these fields: application security, vulnerability management, incident response and forensics, cloud computing, and/or security automation.At least a 2 year proven track record of leading a security engineering team.Understanding of security controls, their purpose, and value they bring in improving SecurityHeavy experience with cloud technologies (such as AWS and GCP)Good design skills and optimal solutions to problems balancing scope, performance and other trade-offs.Experience with compliance frameworks like SOC2, PCI and/or FedRAMP is a bonus.We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
