Description
The Associate Director, Site Reliability Engineering maintains, integrates and implements software applications within the organization. The Associate Director, Site Reliability Engineering requires a solid understanding of how organization capabilities interrelate across department(s).
This position is a work at home role in the states of KY, FL, IN, OH TN, and WI. This individual will be expected to come into the office at least once or twice a month, and as needed during major incidents.
Responsibilities
The Associate Director, Site Reliability Engineering coordinates software application testing, quality assurance, configuration, installation and support to ensure smooth, stable and timely implementation of new software and updates to installed applications. Ensures proper controls are established and maintained over test and production systems and software source code. Decisions are typically related to identifying and resolving complex technical and operational problems within department(s), and could lead multiple managers or highly specialized professional associates.
This position will lead and manage the activities of approximately four to five Humana associate professionals in the development and execution of overall policy/long term goals for the Demand Reduction Organization (DRO) and the Operational Excellence program across the current Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) organization. This position will also play a key role in the transition of Shared Corporate Systems Infrastructure Support into the SRE organization. The Demand Reduction organization is primarily responsible for overseeing a reduction of Incident tickets and manual effort across the entire portfolio of applications (in excess of 1,000) supported by SRE. The Operational Excellence program works with leadership throughout the SRE organization to maintain and update the correct guidelines (including cloud technologies) for SRE associates to work with delivery teams from design to production to ensure quality applications and functionality are delivered which can be monitored and supported; and with no technical debt. This also includes developing and capturing metrics to demonstrate the progress of the program to senior leadership.
In addition, this position will manage the activities of providing process leadership for SRE's Automation Office through a matrix organizational structure. The Automation Office improves the efficiency of applications and processes by utilizing automation and AIOps tools to minimize manual workloads across the SRE organization.
Required Qualifications
6 or more years of technical experience developing or supporting enterprise class systems
2 or more years of management experience leading a team of 5 direct reports
Demonstrated experience in working with global vendor partners in the delivery of defined work
A demonstrated ability to adapt and learn new skills as innovative technologies are implemented
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree
Advanced interpersonal communication skills and an understanding of multiple areas within Site Reliability Engineering and Solution Engineering organizations
Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
Experience with Scrum/Agile frameworks
Positioned to understand and work with cloud technologies, Azure or GCP certifications a plus
Project leadership experience involving large scale projects along with producing success metrics and measurements
