Position Summary
We are currently seeking a Director of Engineering to lead our human performance experiences to power the future of connected fitness. Current applications provide the best mobile fitness tracking experiences backed by the world’s largest digital health and fitness community. Reporting to the Vice president of Engineering, you will lead a team of software engineers, developers, and managers in an agile environment to build and provide key leadership to deliver the next generation of fitness applications. You will learn, grow, and innovate in an environment that focuses on results and delivery, all backed by one of the strongest consumer brands in history.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Provide key leadership to hire, coach and mentor diverse talent in technology teams
Provide technology and architectural expertise to design and modern mobile applications.
Implement and leverage best practices (e.g., code reviews, pipeline automation) and operational key performance indicators (e.g., velocity, estimates to actuals) to ensure timely delivery of high-quality technology deliverables
Partner with the Digital business function leaders and product managers to establish technology strategy in line with the business vision to prioritize technology initiatives, budgets, and operating plans
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and drive the delivery and operations of mission-critical digital web and mobile capabilities
Establish metrics/key performance indicators and SLAs for driving the performance of technology product delivery
Responsible for reporting team’s performance against goals, and risks, and driving contingency planning
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
Experience in building highly productive engineering teams responsible for delivery, uptime, stability, and operations of all applications and systems in a high-growth, multi-channel organization
Expertise in implementing decoupled frontend online stores using a composable, headless architecture that works on MACH design principles (Microservices, API-first, Cloud-native, and headless)
Expertise in open-source software development languages & frameworks such as React, React-native, Java, Spring, NO-SQL DB’s, Spark, Kafka, Databricks, Cloud computing, Kotlin, Swift, and PWAs
Expertise in driving efficiencies across the application footprint through automation leveraging CI/CD and DevSecOps (shift-left) methodologies
Highest level of personal integrity, and the ability to professionally handle confidential matters and exude the appropriate level of judgment and maturity
Education And / Or Experience
10 years of experience in Information Technology with experience related to application development, IT operations management, cloud infrastructure management, and project/program management.
5 years of experience building Mobile applications
BS in CS or relevant field (MS is preferred)

Location: Remote (Preference to be in Austin, TX)

Travel: 10-15% of the year
