Job Summary
Responsible for working collaboratively with team to introduce network capacity and new technologies into one of world's largest converged IP networks. Engage in continuous learning to increase knowledge in routing, switching, optical, software, automation, measurement analytics, and other technologies in our rapidly changing industry. Develop an understanding of technology and business decisions and why they are made. Monitor network for availability, capacity and resiliency; works with teammates to develop tactical execution plans to augment and evolve network. Works well under general supervision. Provided with supportive training and detailed instructions for assigned tasks as needed. Works well as part of a distributed team that may cross multiple time zones; communicates effectively across various written and verbal collaboration channels, both synchronously and asynchronously. Works with moderate guidance in own area of knowledge.

Core ResponsibilitiesBegins to take the lead, with support, guidance, and mentoring from more senior team members in prepapring new network and supporting network system design details and work plans.Begins to work across functional teams on a collaborative basis on behalf of the team, to coordinate work, explain and evangelize new plans, etc.Works independently and collaboratively to develop creative and efficient solutions to network engineering tasks, challenges, and goals.Executes new deployments of network capacity, network elements, supporting network systems, and other elements and functions that are critical to the smooth operation of one of the world's largest converged IP networks.When performing work, focuses on core touchstone goals of security, privacy, scalability, reliability, and efficiency.Produces written execution plans for introducing controlled change including monitoring, validation, and rollback procedures.Consistently looks for new learning opportunities and keeps track of new technologies and standards, and shares this learning with teammates.Makes themselves available to help the team as needed, as a key, dependable, and supportive teammember.Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.Regular, consistent and punctual attendance.
