In this role, you will develop security content & automation to enable scalable delivery of security content supporting 24x7 monitoring operations and response to cybersecurity threats. You will have a deep understanding of Information Security principles and disciplines coupled with excellent development skills, and a continuous desire to learn and grow. We are a passionate team who has fun, enjoys a good laugh but above all else thinks security first.Responsibilities:You will use your development background and Splunk expertise to develop, maintain, and deliver security content to Splunk's internal environmentParticipate in the complete software development cycle at Splunk by understanding requirements, design, develop, test, automate and deploy software to support security use casesIdentify, prioritize, and implement new capabilities to extend automated testing of security use cases to ensure resilience in the alerting pipeline.Understand & manage development backlog to ensure a steady stream of activitiesDraw from your industry expertise in understanding how an attacker would behave and translate it to custom security detection contentEngage with other teams to ensure detections are working as intendedIdentify and prioritize new data sources and their applicability to the detection of sophisticated adversariesDrive complex initiatives with key business partners to continuously improve visibilityMap security content to leading adversarial and defense technique ontologies (e.g. MITRE ATT&CK, D3FEND) and common control frameworksConduct sprint reviews and celebration of successes for all items in the workstream.Collaborate across teams for training, development opportunities, and service improvementProvide mentorship for willing and able candidates looking to dive into security content developmentCapture development metrics in direct-support to executive-level briefings (daily, weekly, monthly)Ensure that all documents, workflows and processes remain accurate and up-to-dateRequirements: You have 4 years of experience as a Security Engineer, Security Content Developer and/or SOC AnalystAdvanced Splunk Enterprise Security experience implementing security content for a Security Operations CenterAbility to build and interpret SPL fluidlyStrong coding proficiency in PythonStrong knowledge of version control systems and automation capabilities within them, Gitlab, Bitbucket, Github, etcExperience with developing CI/CD systems, test automation frameworksWell versed in debugging and troubleshooting including the use of associated toolsKnowledge of public cloud services such as AWS, GCP, AzureHands-on experience integrating DevOps tooling such as Terraform, Ansible, Docker, etcAbility to document your work for the benefit of the teamKnowledge of REST or similar communication paradigmsYou have a passion for learning and a desire to enable the growth of othersYou possess a demonstrated ability to speak with people with varying knowledge in IT Security concepts and have the tailor your message to the audienceIdentifies opportunities for cycle-time reduction via automation or process enhancementsAbility and desire to break the norm and find creative scalable solutions to problems with the moxie to follow-throughExcellent interpersonal skills and ability to see things through the customer\u2019s eyesTremendous attention to detailEligible to work in the United States without company sponsorshipBachelor\u2019s degree in computer science, information security or related discipline is required or equivalent work experienceWe value diversity at our company.
