In the role of Principal Field Engineer you will be encouraged to become a leader within Comcast Technology Solution's exciting new cyber security business unit, which sells SaaS and subscription security solutions to large enterprises and the federal government. Currently, two solutions, BluVector and DataBee, both used internally by the Comcast CISO organization, are sold by the business unit. These solutions are advanced threat detection, advanced threat hunting and security operations center and compliance offerings that improve security and compliance in an efficient manner. DataBee is the BU's growth engine and is an innovative security & compliance data fabric platform, a new market segment rapidly replacing SIEM and other legacy security & compliance toolsets.
Job Description
Core Responsibilities
Serves as subject matter expert on one or more business solutions for products that enable customers to ingest, normalize, analyze, and report on their data for various use cases including cybersecurity and compliance.
Performs analyses for the Company and its customers. Develops and documents strategic, cost-effective business and technical solutions.
Translates sophisticated technical design requirements into information that customers can understand and respond to.
Architect solutions during presales process based on the ability to translate business requirements directly from customers.
Provides timely, technical support and problem resolution for customer questions and issues.
Emphasizes data quality during ingest, processing as well as final load to the target tables.
Guides creation of standard ingestion frameworks for structured and unstructured data as well as checking and reporting on the quality of the data being processed.
Documents, via diagrams and writing and presents the solution to the customer describing the benefits of the solution and establish relationships with customers as a trusted advisor.
Collaborate with Engineering and Solutions Architecture, Product Management and Marketing teams to fully support the Presales Effectiveness of the Sales Engineering teams.
Participate in strategic and tactical account planning.
Possess and maintain the business acumen to anticipate future trends, competitive landscape, understand how organizations generates profits and manages cost and translate market knowledge into business opportunities.
Review all technical aspects for quality of an opportunity documentation before the opportunity is accepted as sold.
Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as vital.
