We deliver results that exceed expectations and we win together!Your Role:Tenable is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Data Platform development team, focused on designing, developing, and maintaining state-of-the art solutions for the data processing services within the tenable.io platform. As a Senior Software Engineer on the Data Platform team, you will have the opportunity to be part of implementing and maintaining a highly scalable, highly reliable cloud-native microservices ecosystem using modern technologies and programming languages. Your Opportunity:Work cross-functionally with other developers, UX designers, product owners and various Tenable teams to design, develop and maintain cloud services for Data Platform servicesPromote clear and simple software design while actively driving the team toward better practices and solutionsSupport a true DevOps / CICD software delivery modelPromote high quality aimed at areas such as security, reliability, testability and maintainabilityDrive innovation by contributing new ideas for our processes, tools, and technologiesCoach and mentor mid-level and junior staff What You’ll Need:B.S. degree in Computer Science or a directly related field, or equivalent work experience5 years of software development experience, including experience with leading projectsExperience developing in languages such as: Java, Kotlin, Groovy, Node.js, Python, or Go, and a willingness to learn new languages as neededExperience with Big Data technologies such as Spark, EMR, Hadoop, Kafka, Hive, Presto, Athena, AirflowExperience designing and developing distributed pipelines for real time data processingExperience with Big Data processing within cloud environments, ideally AWSExposure to high volume, fault-tolerant, highly available and distributed systemsExperience with relational and non-relational data storesExperience designing and developing Restful APIsExperience with cloud-native data stores and data processing systems is preferredAccountability for the behavior of your software in productionExperience coaching and leading mid-level and junior staff in the design, implementation, and execution of highly technical development projectsExperience in working in an Agile team, and an enthusiasm for working collaboratively within and across product teamsThe ability to work independently and as a part of a team, and to lead/drive projects as necessaryThe desire to continuously learn and be exposed to new technologiesIf you’ve reached this point, and you’re still not sure if you should apply…..Just do it! Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, location and experience, and may fall outside of the range shown. Employees are also eligible for variable compensation in addition to base pay (commission for sales roles, bonus for non-sales roles), depending on company and individual performance.
