Responsibilities
Manage the operational activities of the Configuration Mgt. process and ensure that the CMDB effectively supports other ITSM processes such as Incident, Change, and Asset Mgt.
Ensure the CI data is maintained, that it's available when and where it's needed, and that it's updated using only approved processes and procedures
Define, document, implement, and ensure adherence with Configuration Mgt. governance processes, policies, and procedures
Lead a team of ServiceNow CMDB Analysts
Provide an understanding of the requirements and objectives of Configuration Mgt. standards and advise CMDB Analysts and CI Data Owners in the execution of Configuration Mgt. process activities required to enable effective IT Operations
Coordinate Configuration Mgt. / CMDB testing activities associated with ServiceNow platform deployments / upgrades
Evaluate enhancement requests and ensure solution design and process consistency and continuity across the CMDB, IT Domains, and the processes that depend on the CMDB
Create and manage enhancement stories from requirements gathering to deployment
Establish and maintain appropriate security and access to the CMDB
Create / maintain CMDB dashboards / reports as needed to track metrics
Achieve and maintain CI data metric targets
Proactively identify and resolve CI data or functionality gaps in the ServiceNow CMDB
Complete CMDB requests, tasks, incidents, etc. in a timely manner
Develop and maintain plans for both project and operational activities and provide project or operational briefings / updates as needed
Required Qualifications
5 years ServiceNow experience with a focus on IT Service Management (ITSM)
5 years experience maintaining a ServiceNow CMDB in support of CI Data Owners as well as other ITSM processes such as Incident, Change, and Asset Mgt.
5 years experience with the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), managing enhancement stories from request to deployment
Experience managing CI data in a ServiceNow CMDB
Leadership experience preferred
Experience developing, documenting, and implementing Configuration Mgt. processes, policies, controls, and procedures
Experience creating CI Data Health reports, identifying, and resolving CI data gaps to maintain CI data accuracy
Experience working with stakeholders to understand, document, and prioritize requirements for process and ServiceNow enhancements
Experience implementing or maintaining the ServiceNow Common Service Data Model (CSDM)
Excellent organization skills and an ability to develop and implement plans for transforming issues / requests to completion
Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize and balance multiple activities
Resourceful, takes the initiative to accomplish goals and objectives
Ability to influence stakeholders to support and comply with the Configuration Management process
Ability to motivate and guide the efforts of others
Strong understanding of the overall IT infrastructure
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with technical and non-technical audiences
Desired Qualifications
ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)
ITIL Foundation certified
ServiceNow Application Portfolio Management (APM) experience is a plus
