The Senior Pharmacy Engineer oversees logistics, fabrication, installation, operation, application, maintenance, and repair of mechanical and electromechanical machines, equipment, tools, motors and systems The Senior Pharmacy Engineer work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

Responsibilities

The Senior Pharmacy Engineer ensures maintenance and continuous improvement of quality and industry standards, evaluates mechanical products to determine cost effectiveness and efficiency, oversees and implements prescription drug distribution equipment and recommends design modifications to eliminate malfunctions, reduce cost-to-fill, increase throughput and improve quality, performs and leads tests of related software and equipment to ensure proper operation and freedom from defects, and devises improvements to current procedures and develops models of possible future configurations. Begins to influence department's strategy. Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.

Requirements

A four-year Bachelor of Science degree is recommended at a minimum along with 6 years of practical hands-on experience.

This position will require knowledge and expertise to design electrical circuits and motor controls.

This work will also require the ability to analyze and mathematically calculate electrical loads of equipment control panels and facility power distribution systems.

When necessary this candidate will be required to review electrical schematics and controls from outside vendors to give approval for construction or make recommendations for changes to meet or internal standards.

In addition, the ability to create and modify logic routines in Rockwell Studio 5000 is nearly essential.
