The Senior Pharmacy Engineer oversees logistics, fabrication, installation, operation, application, maintenance, and repair of mechanical and electromechanical machines, equipment, tools, motors and systems The Senior Pharmacy Engineer work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
Responsibilities
The Senior Pharmacy Engineer ensures maintenance and continuous improvement of quality and industry standards, evaluates mechanical products to determine cost effectiveness and efficiency, oversees and implements prescription drug distribution equipment and recommends design modifications to eliminate malfunctions, reduce cost-to-fill, increase throughput and improve quality, performs and leads tests of related software and equipment to ensure proper operation and freedom from defects, and devises improvements to current procedures and develops models of possible future configurations. Begins to influence department's strategy. Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.
Scope of Role and Responsibilities:
Perform engineering duties such as the planning of manufacturing, and the installation, operation, and maintenance of electrical apparatus. Perform a variety of activities in the use of electrical devices and energy for commercial, domestic, and industrial use. Works directly with engineers in other disciplines to augment production capacity and value.
Performs the design, layout, testing, and evaluation of mechanical and electro-mechanical devices or systems. Performs product development activities including drawing board layout and interpretation and implementation of customer specifications and documentation requirements. Provides existing product line support in design activities and/or modification of hardware in production. Conducts engineering studies and may assign work to technical drafting staff. At this level, assignments are moderately complex.
Repair, adjust, and maintain production equipment, machinery, or instruments to ensure that it functions reliably and complies with process specifications. Respond to emergencies, break-downs, malfunctions, and other operating problems to minimize disruptions to manufacturing processes. Design and Implement an established maintenance program and maintain detailed maintenance records so that recurring problems with machinery, equipment, or parts can be proactively identified and addressed. Set, calibrate, or adjust equipment, machinery, and instruments so that it complies with production specifications or instructions.
Designs, implements and maintains quality assurance protocols and methods for processing materials into partially finished or finished products. Responsible for planning, implementing and managing compliance of manufacturing and production processes with internal and external safety, quality and regulatory standards requirements for worldwide distribution. Designs methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of production processes, production equipment and finished products. Performs analysis of reports and production data to identify trends and recommend updates or changes to quality standards and procedures when necessary. May assure compliance to in-house and/or external specifications and standards.
Minimum Education Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent
4 years' experience in related field
Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge with devices utilizing multiple forms of communication protocols including Ethernet based to serial communication
Knowledge of PC & PLC based control solutions similar to RS Logix, Factory Talk, SCADA, and Think & Do.
Knowledge of APQP, PFMEA, Control Plans & Six Sigma Methodology Desirable

Remote Work: Will be reporting onsite a few days out of the week to designated office in FL.
