Job Summary
The Technology, Product, Experience (TPX) organization works at the intersection of media and technology and our innovative teams are continually developing and delivering products and next-generation technologies that transform the customer experience. The Comcast Network and CONNECTivity (CONNECT) organization is a highly agile, fast-paced, dedicated group at the forefront of change focused on innovating, building, and operating the best in class, most reliable access network for our customers. Comcast's Smart Network Platform (SNP) organization aims to revolutionize network engineering at Comcast by providing a network data collection, monitoring, and automation platform to drive consistency and standardization; eliminate manual changes; increase network visibility; and ultimately minimize customer-impacting incidents. SNP's Product team seeks a passionate Product Manager/Owner who shares our excitement of the intersection between networking and software development as well as building delightfully intuitive, performant, and disruptive products. This individual will dive deeply into complex network telemetry and automation software development ventures, to evaluate and define the 'what' and 'why' while serving as a subject matter expert for the development and testing teams.
Job Description
Core Responsibilities
Serve as a Product Owner embedded in one or more software development Scrum teams building an internal platform used by Comcast's network infrastructure organization
Partner with internal network architecture, engineering, and operations teams to understand and advocate for their needs and priorities
Maintain strong comprehension of Comcast's internal network telemetry and automation product portfolio as well as reference knowledge of Comcast network architectures, topologies, and network devices
Perform technical requirements analysis for network telemetry and automation capabilities, to document use cases, user stories, and acceptance criteria in support of functional and non-functional requirements
Guide application strategy and acceptance in advancement of product roadmaps and in assurance of product quality
Lead story refinement activities with development teams to transfer knowledge of and collaborate on product requirements, while strongly understanding technical feasibility concerns
Serve as a network engineering/architectural subject matter expert in support of application development, testing, and deployment
Provide strategic direction for roadmap creation and long-range planning
Present at product demonstrations, trainings, and other internal customer-facing forums
Drive continuous improvement of deployed platforms by consistently looking for ways to expand capabilities, improve efficiency, and reduce costs
Experience with network monitoring and alarming desired
Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar field; Master's degree preferred
Expertise writing user stories and acceptance criteria for software product features; Jira familiarity a plus
Ability to maintain backlogs for one or more Scrum teams including sequencing work according to priorities and accounting for dependencies
Ability to interface with a diverse user community to understand and advocate for their needs; communicate outcomes
Experience working embedded within software development teams; knowledge of software development processes
Familiarity with Scrum and scaling frameworks such as SAFe
Passion for and knowledge of network automation and telemetry trends and technologies with a focus on fault monitoring and alarming
Knowledge of SNMP, gNMI, syslog, Netflow, BGP-LS, NETCONF, and/or YANG preferred
Conceptual knowledge of routing and switching
Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex problems
Ability to juggle multiple tasks and work autonomously, providing accurate reporting of work
Excellent written and verbal English skills
