Job Details:
SUMMARY: The purpose of this position is to lead, direct and support Tyson facilities to protect the environment and achieve regulatory compliance. Responsibilities include: provide oversight and assistance for environmental issues and compliance at multiple production operation sites; investigate environmental incidents including root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions in a timely manner; achieve compliance with applicable federal, state and local environmental regulations at assigned locations; assist the Environmental Director with new proposals and provide support for meetings with key agencies as needed; document summaries of regulatory requirements and communicate and implement at affected locations; create and update directive and target plans and implement as required; develop and maintain relationships with key internal and external customers; promptly communicate environmental issues to the appropriate Tyson management team and or the regulatory community when applicable; conduct site visits, annual assessments and audits, and perform troubleshooting activities as needed.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: BS degree in Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, or Environmental Science.
Experience: 8 years' meat industry experience and/or environmental management.
Computer Skills: Strong computer skills, especially with spreadsheets.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; intermediate presentation skills.
Special Skills: Strong math skills; ability to work with a broad spectrum of people; strengths in the following environmental program areas: potable water systems and chemistry, greenhouse gases, air emissions permitting, inventories, and control systems, Form R reporting.
Supervisory: numerous Team Members at processing plant locations.
Travel: 50% travel
