Description

The Site Reliability Engineer is responsible for driving application quality practices, actively engage with IT and Site Reliability Engineering teams throughout the Software Development Life Cycle ensuring requirements are effectively written, and met. Eliminate user and member impacts by driving improved system stability, data integrity and performance into system designs.

The Site Reliability Engineer assignments involve moderately complex-to-complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

Responsibilities

In this role, The Site Reliability Engineer will have the opportunity to be a part of an amazing team that will help transform application quality and rethink how we work within our Site Reliability Engineering organization. You will be responsible for leveraging SRE best practices and reducing toil throughout our organization. This key role will require someone who is a self-driven, selfless leader who is passionate about learning.

The SRE 2 will coordinate application quality assurance, configuration, installation and support to ensure smooth, stable and timely implementation of new software and updates to installed applications. Ensures proper controls are established and maintained over test and production systems and software source code. Begins to influence department's strategy. Makes decisions on moderately complex-to-complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.

The ideal candidate for this role will be an enthusiastic problem-solver who is comfortable taking charge, making sound business decisions and formulating creative tactical solutions to business and operational problems, all while handling multiple tasks simultaneously.

Work assignments involve moderately complex-to-complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors

Communicate and advocate the product vision

Engage with customers for product adoption and collect feedback

Promote a collaborative team environment and work closely with colleagues to achieve business objectives

Providing administrative support as needed

Chair and facilitate meetings where appropriate and distribute minutes to all project team member

Capture, publish, and follow-up on meeting notes, action items, and other inter team communications

Apply a deeper emphasis on facilitation and servant leadership to agile projects and products of a highly complex nature. As the PMO shifts from traditional project practices to an Agile, Product-centric model, the ideal candidate will aid in the maturation of new ways of working and will embrace the shift to leading with acumen that is more technical and with a key focus on the delivery of business value providing the right balance of agility and predictability

Project Planning and Management: Coordinating and leading Agile team deliverables, may work at the EPIC Level. These are large, complex enterprise-level initiatives that may consist of multiple Agile and non-Agile teams and/or vendors which may require integration with other activities outside the scope of the Agile teams.

Product Owner Support: Supporting the Product Owner in managing customer expectations for project deliverables, managing stakeholder communications, and helping to identify dependencies to help remove impediments for the team to deliver value.

Understands department, segment, and organizational strategy and operating objectives, including their linkages to related areas

Demonstrates understanding of the business value of the project and its broader impact on programs, initiatives, and the enterprise

Actively manages stakeholder partnerships and mitigates risks

Support the Team: Promoting empowerment of the team to help ensure that each team member is fully engaged in the project and is empowered to make meaningful contributions, and encouraging a sustainable pace with high-levels of quality for the team.

Required Qualifications

Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively across varying levels of personnel

Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills

Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team

Experience using computers for a variety of tasks

Demonstrable competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Outlook

2 or more years of software and data platform production support

Experience coordinating software development, testing, quality assurance, configuration, installation and support

Experience with ensuring proper controls are established and maintained over test and production systems and software source code

Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Experienced working in Agile frameworks such as SAFe

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

2 or more years of technical experience

Project Management Institute certification (PMP)

Six Sigma Certification

SAFe Agilist (SA) or SAFe Program Consultant (SPC) certification

Experience in the health solutions industry

Familiarity with project, program, and agile tools

ServiceNow, Azure DevOps, Jira Align, Miro

Experience with technology solutions assessments and/or strategy planning oversight

Additional Information

Associates are required to be fully COVID vaccinated, including booster, or undergo weekly COVID testing and wear a face covering while at work. The weekly testing will need to be done through an approved Humana vendor, and unvaccinated associates should follow all social distancing and masking protocols if they are required to come into a Humana facility or work outside of their home.

Provide proof of applicable exemption including any required supporting documentation
