1ST SHIFT (United States of America)
SUMMARY: This position is responsible for coordinating and managing the day-to-day operational and tactical aspects of multiple or large scale international and domestic projects and will function as project manager on assigned projects or manage multiple projects or Project Managers. Duties include: prepare or reviews scopes of work and construction documents for assigned projects; evaluate existing buildings for operational conformance to the requirements of the food processing industry; review and approve consulting engineers and owner construction documents; organize design resources and be responsible for the accuracy operational conformance and thoroughness of final design documents; provide review and approve construction and installation documents detailed drawings and specifications for renovations additions and new facilities; perform plant evaluations including written reports photo documentation repair and replacement cost analysis; develop detailed scopes of work and request for proposal documentation for consulting engineering services and design build projects; act as Tyson s representative when design work is being performed by an engineering consulting firm. Other responsibilities include: develop and provide to executive management feasibility studies for justification of capital project expenditures; aid in facility reviews; prepare and review estimates for design and construction personnel requirements project budget and time schedules; review and approve construction shop drawings and product submittals for conformance to construction documents; perform construction and project site visits and provide written reports of construction progress and deficiencies; lead train and mentor engineers and draftspersons; any other tasks as may be deemed appropriate for the successful performance of Tyson Foods Inc.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor degree in engineering-related field or equivalent experience.
Experience: 8 plus years’ experience required with 5 plus years’ experience in the food processing industry preferred. Must have the proven ability to lead and mentor multiple engineers.
Computer Skills: Knowledge and use of computer programs.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Special Skills: Professional registration by approved examination preferred. Must be able to work on multi-faceted projects of any magnitude while requiring little or no supervision; the ability to complete complex projects on time and on budget; strong knowledge of civil structural architectural mechanical and electrical disciplines concepts practices and procedures as they relate to food processing facility design and operation; and strong organizational skills.
Travel: 10 plus trips per year.
