Job Summary:
Pure Storage is seeking a component engineer to work in our Global Component engineering team, partnering with Operation Engineering, Design Engineering, Commodity management and Supply Chain Operations.
Responsibilities for this role include but are not limited to
Partner with operation engineers, design engineers, commodity managers, suppliers, and manufacturing partners to develop the next generation enterprise all flash storage products
Define, implement, and execute component qualification criteria and procedure
Develop commodity strategy, supplier quality metrics and management systems.
Responsible for supplier selection, qualification, and audits.
Identify alternate sourcing to support BOM risk assessment, EOL and LTB needs.
Drive failure analysis to support production and customer quality.
Provide technical expertise to analyze component quality and reliability
Analyze and implement Product Change Notification (PCN), manage approved vendor list in PLM system, ensuring product compatibility and compliance requirements.
Qualifications for this role are:
8 years of component experience in IC design, mfg., test, quality, and reliability.
Bachelor's Degree in Electronics or Electrical engineering preferred, or other engineering discipline is required
Experiences in system integration in high tech industry, working at an OEM and EMS corporation is a plus
Knowledge with DIMM, HBA, Optics, and PCBA assembly is a plus
Detail oriented, analytical, and customer focused yet flexible and adaptable to business needs
High level of teamwork and collaboration skills
Ability to operate in a fast-paced changing business environment
Strong verbal and written communication skills
