Essential Functions / Responsibilities:
The Knowledge Management Leader will understand abstraction principles such as information life cycle and change management, configuration management, data configuration migration and control to build a foundation of information, data, and analysis that enables effective application of resources and investments for business growth. This Leader will work across GE’s multiple business divisions to capture knowledge in a common structure and methodology that will enable the effective consumption, application, and use of GE’s collective knowledge. They will be responsible for setting the standards, configuration management, and the overall change management for knowledge capture for the GE business. The Knowledge Management Leader will also be responsible to: Set-up, structure, and maintain complex database structures. Drive a common lexicon and data management structure across GE businesses and data structures. Create data capture and user interface portals that ensure high quality data consumption and articulation. Prioritize multiple critical tasks with limited resources and challenging deadlines. Architect, document and execute a program to provide a functioning beta Knowledge Management system, using IT/IS stakeholders appropriately in the design, development and testing of said system. Ensure automation of key value / workflow steps for clients – modelling and technological / economic evaluations. Develop thinking and methods to provide a Multi-Generation Product Plan (MGPP) for Knowledge Management system supporting GE Initiatives and work with IT/IS counterparts to solicit support / quotations / proposals from third parties to realize the MGPP in a phased investment program.
Qualifications / Requirements:
Position requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign degree equivalent, in Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Mechanical Systems Engineering and 5 years of progressively responsible, post-bachelor's degree related experience working in the Power Generation industry with gas turbine technologies. The position also requires: 5 years of experience in Application Engineering and Product Management; 5 years of experience in application of complex data and information architecture concepts with a full appreciation of data management, data analytics, simulations, and indexing in complex database structures; 5 years of experience creating multi-dimensional database infrastructures and integrating multi-parameter analysis techniques into a cloud-based data infrastructure; 5 years of experience working in a global, matrixed environment leveraging stakeholder management skills to develop information architecture proposals and thus develop, document, iterate and trade user and system requirements relating to the latter in enterprise information systems development. Foreign & domestic travel req’d up to 20%. Telecommuting may be permitted. When not telecommuting, must report/appear into/at General Electric Company’s Schenectady, NY location.
