Description
The Senior Enterprise Observability (Splunk) Engineer devises an effective strategy for executing and delivering on IT business initiatives. This position will involve a range of Splunk engineering and configuration activities including system deployment, Splunk app implementation, data onboarding, and other Splunk integrations. Development projects employ DevOps practices and Agile methodologies to ensure timely delivery of solution improvements aligned with customer requirements. This role will be responsible, working closely with Security Engineering and Infrastructure Engineering teams to identify, design, implement, and test solutions for logging and observability. A strong IT background, as well as knowledge of network and systems administration is beneficial.
Work closely with Security and IT Operations teams and project stakeholders to deliver needed solutions in a timely manner.
Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation which includes solution requirements, use cases, system dependencies, test plans, build and deployment
Drives transparency and monitoring of critical log data ingestion including alerting based on dynamic thresholds
Collaboratively design and implement custom Splunk solutions which satisfy project requirements.

The Senior Technology Solutions Professional acts as a liaison and collaborates with the business and functional stakeholders to identify and deliver strategic enablement solutions. Begins to influence department's strategy. Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience/certifications
Solid understanding of operations, technology, communications and processes
4 years of progressive experience leading continuous improvement efforts, evaluating existing systems and implementing process improvements
3 years of Splunk or equivalent SIEM experience
Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
Experience with interconnected, heterogeneous systems
Strong understanding of industry standards and technologies
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in GCP,Azure and AWS cloud platforms log ingestions to Splunk.
Experience with Splunk Common Information Model (CIM) and Enterprise Analytic
Expert Splunk application and dashboard developer using complex data searches
Experience optimizing applications to reduce impact on resourcesExperience with Splunk administration, configuration, tuning large environments
Experience with data onboarding, Splunk TAs
Experience managing complex data, specifically managing role-based access control, configuring roles and designing data onboarding to support current and future roles
Experience with Regex and custom scripting
Expertise in Splunk SPL and python
Experience with Splunk Premium Apps - ITSI and Enterprise Security (ES) is plus
Experience with and very comfortable working in an agile environment
Splunk Certified Cloud Admin
Splunk Certified Advanced Power User
Preferred Skills and Experience
Splunk platform performance monitoring best practices
Splunk log data ingestion monitoring and alerting best practices using ML, statical/trend analysis
Windows/*Nix systems administration
Networking background
Familiarity with common infrastructure technologies
Experience with basic Splunk Search Processing Language (SPL)
Strong understanding of Splunk configuration model, web UI and Common Information Model (CIM) compliance
Experience with automation, scripting (preferably Python), and programming
Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)
Experience with DevOps platforms
Familiar with the fundamentals of agile project management
Ability to communicate with stakeholders of varying technical and non-technical skillsets
