Job Description
As a member of the Steam Power Americas commercial team, you will be an active contributor to the development and implementation of pricing strategy for the $1B Steam Power Services business with the goal of maximizing revenue and profitability growth. This role will require you to support the Strategic Pricing Leader through development and maintenance of a Demand Planning methodology which will enable functions downstream from the Commercial Team to match capacity to demand so GE can deliver services for its customers.
Success in this role looks like:
Establish yourself as a subject matter expert by demonstrating analytical thinking to support the Strategic Pricing Leader in developing a customer oriented, data driven, and differentiated pricing function with the goal of capturing share and improving margins in unison with business needs. Key measurements for this role include price realized on orders and sales that yields margin expansion and competitive differentiation.
You will be an indispensable team member, with excellent analytical and communication skills.
Your Role:
Connect the Orders Analytics to Revenue and Cost
Enable key stakeholders to derive their demand cases from the Orders, Revenue, and Cost
Leverage Orders pipeline forecasts to articulate the Revenue and Cost pipelines
Create a system of Leading Indicators for capacity constraints and demand gaps
Create the construct to review historical snapshots of the demand model
Identify gaps in the Demand Leading Indicators and leverage LEAN problem solving efforts to close the gaps
Leverage the demand model to influence pricing decisions based on demand and capacity constraints in the market
Effectively and regularly communicate on demand planning activities, analysis, and performance with executives and senior leadership throughout the organization
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, Finance or related discipline from an accredited college or university
Demonstrated experience in Pricing, Strategic Marketing, Commercial Operations, Commercial Finance, Sales or similar
Desired Qualifications:
Basic understanding of market pricing and value pricing methodologies
Understanding of the Steam Power Services business
Strong analytical and organizational skills
Demonstrated ability to creatively solve problems and address implementation obstacles
Solid communication and relationship building skills with proven ability to obtain buy-in on concepts/ideas
Proficient use of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Salesforce, and Tableau
Understanding of financial business metrics
Ability to work under deadlines and prioritize under pressure
