We are seeking a Rapid Response Engineer to join our Cables Sustaining team and support our latest Wireline Cable technologies and products. As Rapid Response Engineer you will be responsible for delivering innovative and cost-effective solutions requiring development, testing, commissioning, and sustaining of new or improved cable design/manufacturing/maintenance techniques, procedures, and products.
This position partners with field maintenance & operations teams, cable engineering & manufacturing teams, as well as raw material/equipment manufacturers/ suppliers. You will assist in planning, conducting, and evaluating approaches to meet the project objectives in a timely fashion.
Experience with Wireline operations and oil & gas industry exposure is highly desirable.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Manage Rapid Response projects including design, engineering, quotation, follow-up with Manufacturing, qualification, customer acceptance testing, commissioning and SWI documentation updates.
Manage sustaining engineering tasks including design and engineering, follow-up with Manufacturing, commissioning, and manual documentation updates.
Update associated business systems with changes in product revisions and new products as they are engineered and manufactured.
Track and document process engineering modifications, changes, and costs.
Support and coordinate Wireline Cable design, manufacturing, and maintenance standards.
Maintain awareness with new cable design, development, and commercialization of new technology and equipment as these relate to cable maintenance equipment.
Build prototypes, products, and systems suitable for testing. Design test procedures, conduct tests, and document test results in collaboration with cross-functional team.
Perform physical failure analysis of electromechanical products and related manufacturing processes, determine failure root cause, and appropriate corrective actions, and implement those actions.
Strategic identification and prioritization of issues and corrective actions.
Produce analyses and mathematical models and draw design conclusions based on those.
Conduct and/or participate in technical reviews of requirements, specifications, designs, code, and other artifacts.
Continually evaluate engineering approaches and risks to produce and iterate development plans. Contribute to design standards and support design re-use (best practices, etc.)
Create and maintain product documentation (requirements, specification, design, development, integration, test procedures and results) following the product lifecycle of the project.
Design and improvement of materials, processes, and processing equipment used in development and manufacturing of cables.
Develop client/stakeholder presentations, provide training and support to field maintenance and operations representatives. Prepare operations and maintenance support technical documentation in a timely fashion.
Qualifications and Experience
BS/MS degree in engineering or related degree
3 – 5 years of relevant technical experience in Wireline operations
2D and 3D Modelling (AutoCAD, Creo, Solidworks) and GD&T knowledge.
Great mechanical intuition and simplicity mindset when approaching designs.
Design for HSE and manufacturability experiences are plus
Ability to travel domestic/international about 5%
