The IT Network Engineer position will be responsible for Pure Storage’s global network presence and

support of the global corporate IT network systems. As part of the Network Operations team, you will

design, implement, maintain, and support our growing network infrastructure(s) to maintain highly

available network architectures that meet business objectives and SLAs.

● Owning the lifecycle of a production data center network serving thousands of customers

● Designing and managing the network that make up our production and supporting environments

● Working with Engineering, Datacenter Operations, and support organizations to provide network

connectivity and security.

● Deploying multi-site Internet connectivity for WAN and LAN access, Cloud and employee access

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO BRING TO THIS ROLE…

● 10 years of experience as a Senior network engineer.

● Bachelor's degree required. CIS or Telecommunications preferred

● Strong experience collaborating with other team members. Experience working in collaborative

team environments highly desirable.

● Proficiency with scripting and configuration management tools. Preferably with hands-on

experience.

● Experience with monitoring and alerting systems such as Nagios, or other monitoring platforms.

● Familiarity with dashboards using Splunk

● Strong desire to learn and share knowledge.

● Excellent written and verbal communication skills

● Experience being in an on-call rotation and triaging production issues

● Expert level in routing protocols such as BGP & OSPF

● Proficiency with multiple network vendors such as Arista, Cisco, Aruba, ClearPass, Palo Alto and

Juniper Networks

● Strong documentation skills. Preferably with working knowledge of Lucidchart & wiki.

● Experience with IPV6 addressing and deployments.

● Working knowledge of LAN, WIFI & WAN technologies, standards and best practices. especially

with regard to security

● Experience configuring and installing various network devices and services (e.g. routers,

switches, firewalls, wireless controllers)

● Ability to perform network maintenance and system upgrades including service packs, patches,

hot fixes and security configurations

● Monitor performance and ensure system availability and reliability

● Work within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness,

approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure

● Select and implement security tools, policies, and procedures in conjunction with the company’s

security team

● Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution

● Designing and implementing new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current

networks

● Installing, configuring and supporting network foundational services including Infoblox DNS and

DHCP.

● Investigating faults in the network and reporting network status to key stakeholders
