Responsible for providing strategic leadership and vision to the research, design and development of new products and applications. Analyzes and evaluates new and emerging technologies and competitor's position and products. Defines Company's engineering roadmap. Incorporates broad knowledge to address complex, unusual and critical issues. Develops long-term plans that impact the achievement of business results. Job Description
Core Responsibilities:
Develops and implements strategic vision for the initial development, architecture and design for future products and applications that best support the Company's technology.
Leads technology development, architecture and systems engineering teams for access network technologies including hardware, software, process, tools, HFC, FTTH, optical technologies, DOCSIS, PON, and software defined network optimization across the technology stack. Coach team from both a subject matter expertise and the engineering process.
Collaborates with other departments and leadership team to define Company's engineering roadmap including:
Evaluates and adjusts strategies, schedules and logistics to meet changing markets and competitive conditions.
Directs the monitoring and evaluation of competitor products and applications. Conducts in-depth analysis of competitors' services and prepares recommendations for future products and applications.
Defines and communicates goals, strategies, tactics, project plans, timelines, and key performance metrics to reach goals.
Deployment of new technologies, operations and sustaining of the network, products and services.
Analyzes and evaluates changes in technology and defines current and future departmental objectives and goals. Leverages relationships with industry partners to keep current with technological developments within the industry, develops new standards, monitors and evaluates competitive applications and products.
Oversees compilation of reports, manages and tracks department and project budgets. Utilizes key financial and operational metrics to measure effectiveness of research and development initiatives.
Approves policies and operating procedures and establishes schedules of product releases and project time tables.
Collaborates across teams with an open-minded perspective on new ideas with creative contribution on new technology, intellectual property, architectures and operational approaches. Inclusive sharing of ideas and data with all stakeholders. Inclined to act and do whatever is needed to get the job done.
Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.

Professional Experience and Qualifications:
15 years experience with designing and developing broadband internet network technology including HFC Broadband, FTTH or Mobile/Fixed wireless required
Experience in identifying, hiring and managing 'best-in-industry' level technologists
Proven track record of successful technology, product and service launches delivered to significant customer base
Demonstrated creation of valuable intellectual property assets included in revenue generating products and services
Demonstrated collaboration with standards and open source communities in support of successful products
Experience with network operations is valuable to excel in this position
MSEE/MBA or equivalent on the job experience required

Salary:
Pay Range: $251,749.96 - $377,624.94
Comcast intends to offer the selected candidate base pay within this range, dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience.
