The Senior Software Engineer codes software applications based on business requirements. The Senior Software Engineer work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will have the opportunity to contribute to Humana's innovative and home-built next-gen data analytics platform in Azure stack. This solution is bound to solve many challenges in healthcare services and provide a data foundation for ML and AI solution, seeking better business insights and ultimately make automated healthcare related decisions. Our data platform is distributed by domain and is novel solution beyond monolithic data lake.

Responsibilities

You will contribute to engineering efforts from design to implementation, solving complex technical challenges around developer and engineering productivity and velocity.

Design and build advanced automated build, test, and release infrastructure.

Drive adoption of best practices in code health, testing, and maintainability.

Analyze and decompose complex software systems and collaborate with cross-functional teams to influence design for testability.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field

5 years of professional software development experience building highly scalable systems.

Proficiency in at least one of the following programming languages: Java, Python, Go, Scala or Ruby. 


Experience with integration of data from multiple data sources.

Experience in modern software designs, such as microservices and event-driven architectures.

Experience with various persistence technologies (RDBMS or any NoSQL solutions)

Experience with CI/CD principles, architecture and operations.

Familiar with modern big data tools and API based webservice architecture.

Experience with security in industry standards like TLS, OAuth2.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Microsoft Azure tech stack.

Solid working understanding in data modeling.

Experience with building enterprise level data lakes and data warehouses by leveraging any of the major cloud providers (Azure, GCP or AWS).

Experience with building batch and streaming systems, using solutions such as Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Spark-Streaming or Flink.

Knowledge of messaging systems, such as Kafka or RabbitMQ.

Experience with agile development practices.
