The Senior Site Reliability Engineer work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.

Job Description

The Senior Site Reliability Engineer supports the core components of site reliability, particularly as they relate to performance and incident response, to help facilitate service resilience and infrastructure uptime. The ISM SRE helps connect application architects and support engineers with those dedicated to IT infrastructure to ensure application and system resilience. This role is accountable for the success of Humana's infrastructure teams as they relate to incident response, and is part of the on-call process to ensure the efficiency of IT teams when it comes to responding to incidents and outages in production. Through the collaborative post-incident review processes, the ISM SRE contributes and assists with follow-up on action items as they relate to process improvements and completion, and helps drive useful metrics and dashboards. This role requires a firm understanding of core application architecture and infrastructure technologies across a broad spectrum of systems. Begins to influence department's strategy. Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments. Requires ability to coordinate and collaborate with multiple SCS and SE teams, leadership of bridges for assessment, debugging, and resolution of issues.

Required Qualifications

5 years of technical experience, or equivalent

Experience coordinating and providing infrastructure configuration, installation and support to ensure smooth and stable systems

Experience with ensuring proper controls are established and maintained over test and production systems.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree or equivalent technical certification

Azure Fundamentals certification

Thorough understanding of ITIL foundations

Experience leading enterprise monitoring products

Additional Information

This role will be located in LVL, KY, Waterfront Plaza or the Data Center
