Responsibilities
Work with other engineering domains, such as mechanical, electrical and Information Technology (IT), to solve cross-domain problems related to automation equipment and processes involving the use of sensors, actuators, and IT infrastructure
Analyze domain problems and identify, adapt and develop technologies from the fields of automated and autonomous systems and industrial automation to address them
Evaluate and develop probabilistic state estimation techniques that are relevant and applicable to decision-making automated systems
Provide the technical expertise required for integration and programming of robotic solutions, including planning/writing of programming code as necessary
Design and evaluate programming assignments in robotics perception and planning areas
Design, develop and evaluate electro-mechanical system such as robot payloads/sensors
Develop innovative services, IoT devices, platforms to receive, control and manage robots
Integrate systems and software, considering qualities such as security, safety, performance and reliability
Support the senior technical team in the creation of a technical roadmap for advanced technologies stack
Support the engineering team in understanding and implementing technologies
Support and perform technology transfers from technical collaboration projects in areas of planning under uncertainty, machine learning, probabilistic reasoning, and cognitive systems
Liaise between Research and Operations organizations to promote appropriate decision-making technologies and solutions
Document and validate automated processes with domain experts
Minimum Requirements
Masters or PhD in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics Engineering or Computer Science/Engineering preferred
3-5 years experience
Knowledge of programming skills and in-depth understanding of relevant programming languages, such as Python, C, C , optionally Ruby, Java, C#, etc
Experience developing software projects, including design, testing, debugging in teams or in person
Good understanding of digital, cloud, system architectures, network communication, computer vision techniques, SQL/noSQL database access. Development experience in these areas is a plus.
Good understanding of robotics systems, programming, modelling, kinematics.
Experience in robotics projects using ROS/ROS2, setup and configuration, ROS drivers, core modules, navigation, simulations, etc.. is highly preferred
Familiar and hands-on with hardware devices, setup and interfacing miscellaneous sensors, common wire and wireless protocols, microcontrollers is beneficial
