Job Description
In this data science role with the Rio Capacity Team within the Time Shifted Video Engineering Group you will help to collect and apply data to provide insights into Rio CDVR (Cloud Based DVR) performance and behavior for future hardware planning and ongoing operations. Rio cDVR is a large-scale system with installations around the world that allows millions of customers to record their favorite TV shows in the cloud, enabling them to watch their recordings from any device, at anytime, and anywhere with an Internet connection.
What You'll Do:
Creates machine learning models that help predict future needs in terms of hardware or insights into application performance.
Writes scripts (Python, Shell etc.) for extracting and storing data from multiple data sources.
Uses data science libraries to create visualizations that show system performance and behaviors.
Performs what-if analysis based on various changing criteria and provide concrete timely answers backed by data.
Automates modeling tasks via scripting and monitoring of data pipelines
Communicates findings to stakeholders and present data

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or a relevant focus.
Experienced in programming languages, Python/R for statistical analysis is a must
Experience with data science algorithms (Regression, Decision Trees, Clustering, etc.) and how to optimize models with techniques such as hyper parameter tuning, outlier detection, etc.
Knowledgeable with data preparation and analysis (for example, interpolation, scaling, handling categorical variables)
Experience with shell scripting and comfortable with Linux shell commands
Experience with Excel
Data visualization in Python (e.g. matplotlib, ggplot, etc) and visualization tools such as Grafana, Kibana, Prometheus, Tableau etc.
Experience with AI techniques such a neural network or deep learning is a plus

Salary:
Pay Range: $108,335.77 - $162,503.65
Comcast intends to offer the selected candidate base pay dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience.
