Your work will involve driving consensus and agreement between teams, building robust processes, and ensuring that every voice in the room shapes the design system. You’ll have the opportunity to practice situational leadership and shepherd the changing needs of Twilio’s UX over the coming years.
You have a thorough understanding of User Interfaces development and design in a component-based approach. We use React and write TypeScript but familiarity with other component-based UI libraries is welcome.
You have an understanding of, or a willingness to learn about design systems, inclusive design and web accessibility principles.
You will truly feel at home in this team if you approach work with humility, collaborate with fellow product designers and researchers, and are able to state your point of view with clarity.
What?
Our culture is highly collaborative, and you’ll be working closely with engineering, architecture, product management, and product design to create new user experiences and improve existing ones.
Empower Others:
Lead a team that designs high quality, inclusive UI Components that enable the entire organization to build world-class experiences that delight our customers.
Be an Owner:
Champion the needs of UI builders (within your team and across the organization) by truly empathizing with their needs and equipping them with the tools required to succeed.
Draw the Owl:
Set a new standard for Inclusive Design by advocating for the needs of each user (not the average user) and committing to supporting a UI platform that is accessible and approachable by all.
No Shenanigans:
Build a culture of transparency and radical candor that promotes high levels of connection, healthy conversation with diverse perspectives, and strong bonds amongst a distributed team.
Why?
The Design Systems team is a platform that serves internal and external customers by delivering tools and processes that enable great customer experiences. The team powers critical parts of Twilio’s current products and is responsible for designing the next generation of its user experiences.
