Sr Web Application Architect The IT Web Application Architect is principally responsible for the development and delivery of GRiDS applications to the user base.  Responsible for designing architecturally sound solutions, delivering detailed technical design, development planning and implementation of new features for globally used applications specifically focused on the broking and sales activities of Aon's Reinsurance Solutions business. This is a hybrid role with the flexibility to work both virtually and from our Minneapolis office.   Aon is in the business of better decisions At Aon, we shape decisions for the better to protect and enrich the lives of people around the world. As an organization, we are united through trust as one inclusive, diverse team, and we are passionate about helping our colleagues and clients succeed.  As the Senior Web Application Architect some of your key responsibilities will involve:Be an active participant during the \ground-floor\ phase of projects to provide appropriate application architecture and assist in making technology choices that ensure project success.Play a hands-on role with development teams when applying coding practices to the architectural design ensuring success in delivering a quality product to users.Work alongside the Development Team Leads during the development process to ensure project design is being followed, assist in solving issues facing the team.Manage and lead the architectural design of new applications as well as new features within existing applications.Take guidance from the Reinsurance Architecture Community of Practice regarding the principles set forth around coding principles and other architectural practices to be applied to the Reinsurance business' suite of applications. Qualifications10 years of application development and implementation experience5 years of application design and software architecture2 years of Azure Cloud experienceBachelor's or Master's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related technical field8 years of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) experience5 years' experience in web application development, Client facing application experience5 years' experience with Microsoft SQL Server databases2 years' experience with a JavaScript based UI FrameworkExcellent written and oral communication skillsStrong time and project management and organization skillsDemonstrated resilience and maturity in resolving process and project issuesContinuous Integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) experienceExperience working in an agile software development environment How we support our colleagues  In addition to our comprehensive benefits package, we encourage a diverse workforce.
