JOB SUMMARY
Serves as a resource for multiple assigned applications/systems. Develops documentation related to building activities. Responsible for making timely, effective decisions in relation to assigned projects. Coordinates and leads project implementations of new applications as assigned to include end user system development utilizing standard tools and detailed specifications. This position will have contact with both internal and external customers and is expected to work in a professional manner. The duties performed by this position may have an organization-wide effect and allow access to confidential information.
Responsible for performing installation, upgrading, testing, maintenance, and customization of vendor applications and web/integration services on a variety of hardware platforms. Gathers requirements, performs analysis, develops and maintains new programs and applications. Serves as a primary liaison between TSG groups, clients and vendors and as a mentor to others in the department.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:
*Designs, develops, and maintains technology related programs and applications. Uses command line language at platform/operating system level. Develops, codes, and maintains shell scripts at platform/server level. *Develops and executes scripts using Structured Query Language (SQL) or Health Level Seven (HL7) standards. Implements and optimizes databases and database management systems as required. *Implements, plans, build and maintain integration/web/applications and subsequent modifications utilizing appropriate tools. Develops and maintains documentation including diagrams and flow charts to track integration/web/applications. Maintains cross-training material. *Builds relationships with vendor Account Executives and technical resources to gain information and assistance necessary to resolve system or application problem(s). Coordinates resolutions of technical issues with development team or vendor. Escalates as applicable. *Demonstrates an understanding and use of advanced principles, theories, and practices of the work specialty. *Coordinates, plans, and conducts detailed design sessions through an advanced knowledge of client business needs and application functionality. Implements, plans, and builds tables, configuration files, or programs to meet client business needs and/or application functionality.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: High school degree required. Associates/Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, healthcare business or equivalent experience required.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of five years of relevant experience.
• Proficient in one or more programming languages, Java preferred.
• Proficient with HL7 or SQL.
• Proficient with Advanced Unix/Linux or Microsoft Windows commands and shell or batch scripts.
• Experience with table creation and structure for multiple databases as required.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications such as Office, Project, Visio, SharePoint.
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR REGISTRATION:
Valid Virginia drivers' license and dependable transportation.
ITIL V3 Certification preferred
OTHER MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Strong experience with integrations (HL7 V3, FHIR, EDI) in enterprise environments including EMR/EHR systems.
• 5+ years of integration engineering experience: designing, implementing, integrating, monitoring and error handling healthcare enterprise applications/systems both on-premise and cloud.
• 5+ years of experience creating, modifying and maintaining secure APIs (REST & SOAP) with a working knowledge of SFTP and SSH in an enterprise environment.
