The Reservoir Geologist is responsible for assisting in delivery of safe, efficient, and reliable products and services to our customers. The job consults with operations groups as needed to support the area of expertise and identifies opportunities for continuous improvement of product and service delivery and formally communicates findings. The Reservoir Geologist actively participates in promoting new technology and services offerings and supports the PL in risk management and applying lessons learned to improve job design and execution as related to the area of expertise. They provide real-time support to operations as required.
Roles & Responsibilities
Lead reservoir geologist for projects on oil and gas field development, appraisal, exploration, and asset evaluations in the Gulf of Mexico, Alaska, Atlantic East Coast and Caribbean offshore deep water and shelf
Creating subsurface geological mapping and modeling (2D & 3D), seismic interpretation, integrating geological and geophysical data in Petrel
Manage projects, establishing project scope, strategies, and resource requirements, together with steering and monitoring project activities to ensure on-time delivery
Working closely with production and reservoir engineers in constructing 3D Reservoir Models
Performing geological interpretation and creating reservoir models delivering detailed analyses and oil in place calculations
Reserves Calculations
Critical thinking ability to identify opportunities and deliver business solutions
Excellent communication skills to engage, share, and influence both internally and externally
Works well in a collaborative environment, actively shares best practices and strives to develop and cultivate trusted relationships with stakeholders throughout the organization
Self-starter, able to work independently and manage multiple concurrent priorities, high performance delivery with an emphasis on task ownership and completion
An ability and willingness to mentor and develop junior staff
Able to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
Qualifications and Experience
MSc Degree in Petroleum Engineering
15-20 years of Gulf of Mexico DeepWater and Shelf Experience in execution of Consulting Projects
