The Senior Cloud Automation Engineer will work on automation projects that drive optimal performance, repeatability, continuity and efficiency in virtualized, on-demand environments in our multi-cloud cloud ecosystem, through the delivery of automation artifacts. The Senior Cloud Automation Engineer will work on assignments involving moderately complex to substantially complex problems where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors to understand the process and to provide a repeatable, automated solution.

Description
The Senior Cloud Automation Engineer will work on automation projects that drive optimal performance, repeatability, continuity and efficiency in virtualized, on-demand environments in our multi-cloud cloud ecosystem, through the delivery of automation artifacts. The Senior Cloud Automation Engineer will work on assignments involving moderately complex to substantially complex problems where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors to understand the process and to provide a repeatable, automated solution.
Responsibilities
The Senior Cloud Automation Engineer performs development of IT automation products and service offerings. Assesses the provided automation architecture and or proof of concept and selects best methods for implementation of said architecture and creates appropriate automated tests to validate functionality
Performs assessment of workloads for fit into one of several cloud deployment form factors - IaaS, PaaS, Serverless Functions etc. and guides infrastructure teams in implementing creative solutions on public cloud infrastructure, as well as helps application teams to move to target form factor
Develops Infrastructure-as-Code templates for deployment of assets into public cloud environments. Further develops configuration management playbooks to bootstrap applications onto deployed assets
The candidate will need to be hands-on, and work on the actual migration, stand-up and cutover of the application/capability in the public cloud.
Finally, candidate must have an 'Automation First' mindset - fundamentally will not accept doing things over and over by hand. Responsible for evaluating and implementing orchestration, automation, and tooling solutions to ensure consistent processes and repetitive tasks are performed with the highest level of accuracy where cloud computing is concerned
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, or related field. Relevant work-experience can substitute
5 or more years of experience in IT & Engineering, with recent focus on automation engineering
Proficiency in infrastructure automation tools like Terraform & Ansible, or equivalent
Proficiency with shell scriptingss
Proficiency with Git
CI/CD experience (GitHub Enterprise, Azure DevOps, or Jenkins)
2 or more years of technical experience with Cloud platforms
Experience integrating new technologies with existing technologies
Strong written and oral communication skills
Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences
Preferred Qualifications
AWS, Azure, or GCP certifications
Proficiency in infrastructure automation tools like Terraform & Ansible, or equivalent
CI/CD experience (GitHub Enterprise, Azure DevOps, or Jenkins)
Experience working in an Agile product methodology
