Job Description Ensure the proper operation and maintenance of computerized system that controls the operation of all Veolia Water of Delaware's production and distribution system facilities. Manage and maintain electrical, mechanical and diverse instrumentation and control systems throughout the facilities.
Nature & Scope-Principal Areas of Responsibilities:
Maintains and services all instruments, equipment, motors, and controls at all facilities
Perform calibration of water quality analyzers such as pH, chlorine residual, TOC, alkalinity and turbidity. Troubleshoot, maintain, and rewires control systems
Performs general maintenance on pumps, valves, regulators, and chemical feed systems
Assists in the installation of new electrical equipment such as starters, vfds, plcs, breaker panels, etc.
Assists in troublshooting, repairing and calibrating RTU's, PLC's and communication equipment, including radios and telephone systems.
Perform preventative maintenance on various water quality instrumentation and electrical/ communication equipment via work orders from asset management system.
Qualifications Special Skills/Abilities Needed:
Must have strong electrical knowledge and skills
Must be able to drive a small/mid size project from start to finish, including scoping out what is needed, material, costs, construction and start-up
Experience in programming PLC's and RTU's
Ability to read, troubleshoot and perform work from schematics, electrical blueprints and drawings.
Familiarity with Allen Bradley and Control Wave Process Logic Controllers (PLC), Remote Terminal Unit (RTU) programing a plus
VFD and Soft Starter troubleshooting and programming
Must understand 4-20mA instrumentation and process controls
Understanding of up to date Arc Flash requlations a plus
Must have valid State Motor Vehicle Operator's License
Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Must be able to work in vaults and confined spaces or at heights from a ladder.
Must be able to work indoor/outdoors and in inclement weather as necessary
Available for after hour emergency calls
Motivated, Self Starter working alone or in teams.
Strong commitment to safety
Education/Equivalent:
High School Diploma Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field desired Delaware Journeyman Electricians License Required, Masters License a plus
Work Experience Needed: 5 years plus experience working directly with electrical controls and maintaining mechanical equipment in an industrial work environment 2 years plus experience in programming PLC's and RTU's
