OVERVIEW:We are recruiting for an accomplished and motivated Data Scientist to join our Marketing Data & Analytics team to build new decision-making pathways across three beloved brand: J.Crew, J.Crew Factory and Madewell. In this role, you will deliver high-quality and impactful analyses aligned to key business objectives, while leveraging your business acumen, curiosity and our suite of technology tools. This highly visible role will work closely with partners in IT and marketing with responsibility for (1) analytic insights that drive tangible business results (2) high-quality algorithms and models to expand revenue streams and streamline operations and (3) onboarding new tools and technologies that support our marketing analytics roadmap.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Statistical Modeling & Machine Learning 50%
*Apply robust statistical and machine learning methodologies to our data, building predictions and/or finding new associations among disparate sources that unlock value for our customers and stakeholders. *Manage the full lifecycle of data models development from concept to validation and deployment. *Serve as data science SME, building and advancing knowledge base of insights and models that further our analytics agenda across the organization.
Advanced Analytics 30%
*Use existing KPIs and other metrics to gauge performance of campaigns and progress on key goals; champion new KPIs as business evolves. *Design and measure in-market tests in partnership with business teams to measure success of new initiatives, providing deep data-driven insights to enable teams to deliver value to our customers and each other. *Build compelling presentations to influence diverse audiences, both technical and non-technical.
Data Advancement 20%
*Continuously improve data environment by identifying and applying process improvements that result in higher quality data and more impactful analyses. *Partner with and direct the efforts of vendors to productionalize models and other automated processes that advance our data initiatives and serve our customers, vendors and other partners. *Stay abreast of industry trends and advances in technology that may benefit our business.
QUALIFICATIONS
*Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred. *3+ years of experience with building supervised and unsupervised models to aid in the aggregation and assimilation of data into business processes and influence outcomes. Must have hands-on experience of cluster analyses, logistic regression analyses, time series regression analyses. Conjoint/Discrete choice analyses a plus. *Fluency in coding languages (like SQL, Python, R, SAS) and visualization tools (like Power BI and Tableau). *Experience with enterprise IT and big data technologies including advanced analytics, data science/engineering, Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Snowflake, Data Bricks, or Salesforce Marketing Cloud. *The ability to translate complex results into strategic recommendation (both written and verbal). *Strong interpersonal, problem solving and critical thinking skills. *Strong organizational skills with ability to build and execute against project plans. *Outstanding customer relationship skills; ability to build strong partnerships with marketing, technology, IT and external business partners.
