Job Title:
Project Manager III
Job Duties:
Manage Extra High Voltage (EHV) transmission and substation Construction Projects.
Provide strategies to Reporting Manager on navigating the project for successful completion.
Be responsible for direct Profit and Loss, direct Schedule and on time delivery, and change order management.
Identify and mitigate risk on EHV construction projects.
Coordinate and lead weekly and monthly project meetings.
Review contractor schedules in the scheduling software used by contractor.
Track and resolve outstanding items on Request for Information (RFI) and action item logs relating to EHV power transmission and substation projects.
Review and articulate to stakeholders engineering specifications for transmission and substation construction projects, using understanding of the engineering process and its deliverables.
Travel to manufacturing facilities within and outside of the United States to assure that transmission and substation poles, conductor and other products are manufactured according to specifications and provide site and construction related recommendations.
Create and send detailed biweekly reports with Key Performance Indicators (KPI) to the client.
Implement cost monitoring processes, review costs in Oracle ERP and develop reporting systems and procedures using, Primavera P6, Primavera Contract Manager, Microsoft Project, Tilos Linear Scheduling, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Visio software.
Create and manage Risk Management plans identifying potential risks including scheduling delays and assist with mitigation strategies.
Provide technical training, internal mentoring, and leadership to junior team members.
Work with internal team to prepare detailed cost estimate and work plans for proposals.
Review Request for Proposal (RFP) language and provide feedback to the legal team reviewing the new RFP contract language.
Education Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or closely related field.
Experience Required:
5 years’ experience as a Project Manager. Employer will accept a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or closely related field and 3 of experience as a Project Manager.
Certifications/Registrations Required:
Project Management Professional (PMP) certificate.
Special Requirements:
The applicable 5 years’ experience or 3 years’ experience must be in the EHV transmission and substation industry.
Demonstrable knowledge of and prior experience in managing large EHV projects with responsibility for direct Profit and Loss, direct Schedule and on time delivery, and change order management.
Demonstrable knowledge of and prior experience in identifying and mitigating risk on EHV construction projects.
Demonstrable knowledge of and prior experience with EHV electric power transmission and substation construction.
Demonstrable knowledge of and prior experience in managing and maintaining weekly project reporting using Microsoft Word, and Excel.
Demonstrable knowledge of and prior experience in P-6 and Microsoft Project scheduling tools.
Demonstrable knowledge of and prior experience reviewing and articulating engineering specifications for transmission and substation construction projects.
Demonstrable knowledge of and prior experience using Oracle ERP, Primavera P6, Primavera Contract Manager, Microsoft Project, Tilos Linear Scheduling, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Visio software.
Demonstrable knowledge of and prior experience with contract negotiations related to electric power transmission projects.
Demonstrable knowledge of and prior experience creating Risk Management plans.
Travel Requirements:
Domestic travel up to 10 days per month. International travel up to 10 days per month.
Work Hours:
Full time, 40 hours/week. Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 pm.
