Description
The Senior Software Engineer codes software applications based on business requirements. The Senior Software Engineer work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Software Engineer you will develop an understanding of business requirements and create solutions to address business needs for IntelligentRx. IntelligentRx is a clinical rules based engine for members to utilize at the point of sale (pharmacy). You will analyze, design, develop, implement and integrate software into business systems of high complexity that will optimize business outcomes.
The Senior Software Engineer needs to be a quick learner, able to understand complex code and business rules, and have a strong proficiency with RDBMS. She/he will perform software analysis, design, development, testing, and maintenance activities. A successful candidate will need to be motivated, self-directed, have good communication skills, and be able to work both independently and as part of a team to meet release deadlines.
Responsibilities:
Work within a team to develop and continuously improve IntelligentRx.
Quickly understands and takes ownership of existing code.
Design and develops modules based on functional requirements.
Quickly and accurately analyzes project requests for feasibility, risk, and level of effort.
Designs, implements and supports software algorithms of significant size and complexity, including definition and validation of prototypes.
Mentor and provide technical assistance and support for junior software engineers.
Be able to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Understand the relationship between good design and business value.
Participate in the resolution of challenging and demanding problems within the software engineering environment.
Lead code reviews and provides valuable feedback on performance, logic, and maintenance issues. Performs unit and system testing to ensure product quality.
Produces sufficient documentation to facilitate communication with members of both technical and business teams.
Contributes actively to lessons-learned exercises for completed projects. Suggests new technologies and approaches, often demonstrating and championing their use.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
5 or more years of experience designing, developing, and testing of software applications
Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree
Experience designing, developing, and testing of software applications and/or infrastructure with skills in the following:
ANSI C STL
Bash scripting
Git
Sqlite
Roguewave/Perforce SourcePro
Python
XML Schema
Linux/UNIX
