Description

The Lead Emerging Technology Engineer assists in the analysis of the requirements for the enterprise and applying emerging technologies to support long-term business objectives. Responsible for researching, collecting, and disseminating information on emerging technologies and key learnings throughout the enterprise. The Lead Emerging Technology Engineer works on problems of diverse scope and complexity ranging from moderate to substantial.

Responsibilities

The Lead Emerging Technology Engineer researches and recommends changes to foundation architecture. Supports research projects to identify and evaluate emerging technologies. Interfaces with users and staff to evaluate possible implementation of the new technology in the enterprise, consistent with the goal of improving existing systems and technologies and in meeting the needs of the business. Analyzes and researches process of deployment and assists in this process. Advises executives to develop functional strategies (often segment specific) on matters of significance. Exercises independent judgment and decision making on complex issues regarding job duties and related tasks, and works under minimal supervision, Uses independent judgment requiring analysis of variable factors and determining the best course of action.

Required Qualifications

Bachelors degree in CS or equivalent experience.

8 or more years of technical experience.

2 or more years of project leadership experience.

Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences.

Proficient in organizing and managing across various teams in order to meet strategic company objectives like reducing technical debt, decreasing cloud costs, and increasing technical agility.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with current market technologies for application systems - Microservices/Kubernetes.

Exposure with deploying to current cloud offerings - AZURE/AWS/GCP.

Familiarity with Agile methodology.

Involvement with deploying/supporting enterprise environments.

Project management experience a plus.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Programming experience a plus (shell/C/perl/python).

Understanding of a wide range of IT technologies - hardware/software/networking/storage.
