The Pharmacy Shipping and Logistics Team (SALT) is a fast-moving and smart group that is transforming the way Humana's Mail Order Pharmacy shows up for its members. The Senior Business Intelligence Engineer solves complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision-makers. The work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where the analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors such as service, spend, and carrier performance

Responsibilities

The Senior BI Engineer for SALT utilizes data management and data organization tools to collect, integrate, analyze, and present Humana Pharmacy's shipping data across multiple sites and businesses. Begins to influence department's strategy. Makes decisions on moderately complex to complex issues regarding technical approach for project components, and work is performed without direction. Exercises considerable latitude in determining approaches to assignments.

Some typical work assignments include but are not limited to:

Using SQL to extract and analyze millions of rows of data

Generate regular and ad-hoc reports for a variety of business customers including - engineering, finance, operations, accounting.

Identify opportunities for operational and system changes

Examine carrier service levels

Provide post mortem analysis of test.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and 5 or more years of technical experience in data analysis OR Master's degree and 3 or more years of experience

Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications including Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint

Experience analyzing data to solve a wide variety of business problems and create data visualizations that drive strategic direction

Innate curiosity and a passion for learning.

Proficiency in verbal and written communication to senior and executive leadership

Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences

Experience with SQL

Associates working in the state of Arizona must comply with the Tobacco Free Hiring Policy (see details below under Additional Information) and upon offer will be subjected to nicotine testing as part of a 10-panel drug test

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced Degree in a quantitative discipline, such as Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or related field

Advanced in SQL, SAS and other data systems

Experience with tools such as Tableau and Qlik for creating data visualizations

Expertise in data mining, forecasting, simulation, and/or predictive modeling

Experience creating analytics solutions for various healthcare sectors

Advanced experience working with big and complex data sets within large organizations

Experience with MS Power BI
