The Business Intelligence Engineer 2 (Humana Pharmacy & Consumer Experience) solves complex business problems and issues using data from internal and external sources to provide insight to decision-makers. The Business Intelligence Engineer 2 work assignments are varied and frequently require interpretation and independent determination of the appropriate courses of action.

The Business Intelligence Engineer 2 (BI Engineer) role will support the Pharmacy Analytics and Consulting team in providing data and business analysis for budgeting, consumer experience, member retention, and other Humana Pharmacy Benefit Manager and Plan initiatives.
The BI Engineer will work with business partners to consult and advise on their strategic needs and provide guidance on what kind of analysis is most appropriate to accomplish their strategic goals. The associate will then leverage SQL and SAS to extract from multiple big data sources and use visualization tools (Tableau/Power BI) and Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel) to provide actionable conclusions/recommendations/dashboards for analysis.
A typical day for this position includes:
Meeting with both new and established internal business partners to discuss their strategic needs. This will include learning about their part of the pharmacy business, consulting and asking questions to understand the need, and agreeing on what analysis is to be delivered
Working with the team in both providing peer review and being peer reviewed on deliverables
Brainstorming and using creativity to create informational visual analysis
Extracting data from different Big Data sources to be combined and transformed for processing
Working on self-development, whether technical skills, business acumen, or leadership skills

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative discipline, such as Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Business Analytics or related field
Working knowledge of SQL or SAS
Experience visualizing data to support business decisions (or equivalent academic experience)
Must be a comfortable working on projects where there is no precedent and they will be the trailblazer
Comfortable presenting to leadership and executive-level positions
Preferred Qualifications
2 or more years of experience in SQL, SAS or other data systems (Master's degree in relevant field, such as Business Analytics, will be considered in place of professional experience)
Familiarity with healthcare or pharmacy industry
1 or more years of experience in Power BI or Tableau
