An Engineer II is responsible for delivering complex system components or platforms that are well-tested and bug-free. They will excel at troubleshooting and resolving functional issues in the platforms. This individual understands the architecture around the core systems they are responsible for. A good candidate will be expected to consistently help new hires and junior engineers to “level up” and become more proficient over time.
We’re looking for a Mac Engineer II to join Best Buy's End-User Computing team. This team is responsible for supporting Best Buy’s end-user operations and provides IT services and engineering support, delivering software and systems that help improve the user experience and enhancing user self-help in support of all Best Buy corporate users. We work with various business teams across Best Buy to ensure they have all the systems and tools they need to be successful. We collaborate with other engineering teams to create new and forward-looking experiences for Best Buy's internal users. The End User Computing, Engineer II will be responsible for providing technical expertise and functional knowledge to design, develop and support L3/L4 end-user technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities Responsible for active management, maintenance, and administration of the JAMF management platform
Perform testing of implementation procedures for minor and major system upgrades and changes across all JAMF Pro environments
Develop automation scripting (Bash, Python, AppleScript) for IT administrative tasks and automate end-user support activities to include packaging of software
Perform administrative tasks within management platforms such as SCCM, JAMF, Intune, etc.,
Evaluate, test & deploy new technology and innovation solutions that meet the needs of corporate business teams and continuously improve the overall end-user experience
Lead as technical SME when needed for projects to design, implementation within the End-User Computing team’s responsibilities
Develop, communicate, maintain system processes, and support documentation on enterprise policies, standards, and best practices for End User Computing capabilities
Respond to assigned incidents in a manner as defined within the End User Computing team and overall Best Buy SLA guidelines
Create, drive, and improve end-user self-serve solutions for L1 and L2 support issues
Communicate and coordinate changes to end-users using a variety of audience-appropriate techniques
Minimum Qualifications 2 or more years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree OR equivalent relevant professional experience
2 or more years of experience managing Windows OS, MacOS, and Mobile operating systems within a global enterprise environment
Experience with building installer packages, and various installation packaging techniques
Experience with IT systems and or infrastructure management (Linux and Windows Server OS) within an enterprise environment
Preferred Qualifications 3 years of relevant professional experience OR Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
Experience using and administration of enterprise device management suites such as SCCM, JAMF Pro, AirWatch, Intune, etc.
Experience with related Microsoft technologies including PowerShell, Azure Active Directory, Modern Auth (SAML\\Oauth), Exchange Online
Experience working with APIs (XML, JSON, SOAP, REST, RPC)
Experience with Cloud Computing Platform and Services such as Microsoft Azure and/or AWS infrastructures
Experience with OOBE devices’ automatic enrollment portals, e.g. Apple DEP, Google Zero-Touch, and integration with multiple MDM providers
