Position Summary
The Under Armour Senior SDET (Software Development Engineer in Test) will be embedded within a project or feature team to take initiative and proactively establish quality best practices, drive quality process improvement, and advocate for the discipline of quality across the cross-functional team.
For this role, the Sr. SDET will take lead over the automation teams working on our Global Ecommerce websites. They will take ownership of the existing automation suite, adding additional coverage when appropriate, and guiding team members on automation best practices.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Take ownership of quality of an assigned project through automation.
Advocate for and implement automation best practices & processes to a cross-functional project team and to UA’s Global QA org
Develop comprehensive automated test plans in collaboration with the QA lead
Develop or refine automated testing strategy of assigned projects
Use automated test results to provide quality metrics and a plan of action to drive improvement
Investigate and implement creative solutions for test cases that are challenging to automate
Contribute to expanding test automation coverage of assigned projects
Optimizing existing automation to increase efficiency and stability
Prioritize and assign automation tasks to junior and consultant SDETs
Coordinate automated testing in support of production deployment
Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
5 years hands-on experience with automation frameworks
5 years of experience in at least one software programming language (Java preferred)
Strong experience with UI and API test automation tools
Ability to adopt a new test framework versions or tools
Experience with testing and automating API’s
Full understanding of QA concepts, methodologies and automation principles
Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence, collaborate, and build solid relationships with team members.
Ability to coordinate with engineering, product owners and QA Engineers to provide efficient feedback
Ability to manage time wisely across projects and competing priorities, meet agreed upon deadlines, and be accountable for work.
Must be pro-active and creative in identifying business challenges and matching innovative solutions.
Participate in all aspects of QA within the company implementing approaches and strategies for the software development lifecycle using automation where possible
Mentor and guide Associate Automation Engineers and Manual Engineers just learning automation.
Ability to take lead over multiple teams and projects
Takes initiative to chase down answers
High level of comfort testing APIs
Conduct root-cause analysis for problems encountered during testing and provide recommendations on resolution.
Use strong analytical skills to solve complex problems in a timely manner while adapting to changing priorities
